South Sulawesi Becomes More Competitive, Investment and Export Rapid Growth at 2025 AMBF X SSIF
Makassar, smartFM – Anging Mammiri Business Fair (AMBF) X South Sulawesi Investment Forum (SSIF) 2025 recorded another significant achievement.
This collaboration of Bank Indonesia (BI) Representative Office of South Sulawesi together with the South Sulawesi Government succeeded in increasing the export value of local best-selling products of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) to the global market.
The annual event becomes a strategic space for connecting UMKM actors from various regions of South Sulawesi with international buyers, as well as opening the gate of new investment in areas that have a potential sustainable economy.
Head Deputy of the Representative of Bank Indonesia of South Sulawesi, Wahyu Purnama A, stated that, the enthusiasm of UMKM actors this year increased vastly. These business actors show interest in consulting and conducting business matching with buyers from various countries.
“From trade perspective, this forum managed to book export commitment with a value of USD 12 million, equals to IDR 228 billion. This amount increased by 110 per cent from last year achievement, which recorded to be IDR 98.78 billion.” he stated in his speech during the closing of AMBF X SSIF 2025, Thursday (13/11) at Sandeq Ball Room Claro Hotel Makassar.
This increase was achieved thanks to the success of 18 UMKM which create cooperation with 30 buyers from 17 countries, such as Indonesia, Malaysia, China, Japan, India, Nepal, Thailand, Azerbaijan, Maldives, United Arab Emirates, Iran, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Australia, Russia, and the Netherlands.
“The number of buyers also increased significantly. Last year, there were only 12 buyers from 10 countries, while this year the number jumped to 30 buyers from 17 countries. This is a strong evidence of the increase of global trust towards the local producs of South Sulawesi” he added.
In terms of investment, South Sulawesi Investment Forum (SSIF) 2025 also recorded a satisfying result. The forum managed to collect 24 Letter of Intent (LoI) through 64 investment meetings discussing about 23 Investment Project Ready to Offer (IPRO) with a potential investment value amounting IDR 8.55 trillion.
The number of prospective investors also soared. This year, as much as 27 prospective investors participated in the forum, far higher compared to the year prior which only involved 9 investors.” added Wahyu.
The achievement of AMBF and SSIF 2025 emphasizes that South Sulawesi is progressively being considered as the center of economic growth, home to globally competitive UMKM, and a promising investment destination.
For information, AMBF X SSIF 2025 brought the theme of "Empowering Green Economic Investment - From Local Champions To Global Vision". This theme highlighted the development direction of South Sulawesi to a competitive and inclusive green economy.
Over the course of the two-day event, which was held on 12th – 13th November, AMBF X SSIF 2025 showcased various activities, from discussion sessions and business matching, regional best-selling product showcase, to talk show and inspirative local heroes stories that managed to penetrate the export market using creative and sustainable products.
